Nature Enhances

Although I am verily sick and tired of the Polar Vortex and mounds of snow, nature has a way of taking the edge off the inclement weather.  Nature definitely does enhance our environment in myriad  ways!

Despite the beauty, schools across Minnesota are closed today because of weather. . . AGAIN!!

  1. Hope they don't have to make up for it during too much of the summer holiday. Take care of yourself and stay warm!

  2. These are two gorgeous shots, worthy of framing and hanging. The 2nd is especially artful.

Bundle up, it can't last forever. I don't think. :)

  4. I has been a hard winter so far, although Environment Canada claims the weather is truly not unusual. The problem is that e have been "spoiled" in the past few years. Well, that's what THEY say. :)

  6. I thought about you when I heard the news this morning. It really must be difficult to do anything in cold like that.
To answer your question, I haven't seen my photos used by anyone without permission. I did have one of my Flickr photos used by a Tumblr site which then rippled into a hundred other Tumblr sites. I contacted Tumblr and they took it down. I'm pretty generous when it comes to the photos but like you, I do expect to be asked first.

  7. Thank you for enabling people like me to see the artistry of winter from warm climates and the comfort of their computer screens.

  8. Like you, I can see the beauty in snow covered landscapes. I prefer to see them in your pictures but when we get snow here, I prefer to look at it out the window of a warm house.

  10. I always like the way snow clings to trees like that.

We're in the same deep freeze. It's a matter of dressing for it. Layers on layers, so to speak.

  11. I know exactly what you mean!!! I have a love hate relationship with the snow...as much as we need it, I'm loving our warmer weather...I hate having to bundle up every time I go outside, I hate being cold all the time, I hate having to negotiate through deep drifts of snow, or having to deal with ice on the driveway and a slippery porch on the way to the front door...that said...the beauty of a fresh snow is incredible!!! And seeing Kelly prance and play in it is such fun!!!

  12. I love snow because it changes the world from one moment to the other at once. But on the other hand it causes so much trouble for traffic, walking and cold. But it will not last for ever, there will always be another season in the end...

  13. These are very pretty. Though, these days I prefer to see the snow in photographs instead of experiencing it in the flesh.

  14. As winter progresses it gets harder to find positives. I'd imagine a polar vortex or two makes it an uphill climb. These are nice shots.

  16. Sorry to vex you unnecessarily. I wasn't thinking; just liked the picture. And what "opinions" are you talking about? :)

  17. The first photo looks like an art installation; the second like a Japanese screen.
