Anyone Home?

Here is the first door knocker that I posted.  I'd take either one and attach it to my front door.

I left town without finding one; now what do I do?

  1. The knocker has a very serious look on it's face.

  2. Maybe you find one in an antique shop or market. Mostly they are very old like this one. I think nowadays nobody would hear someone knocking on their door with all the sounds around us.

  7. I think old antique stores would be the place to search. The hunt makes the find even more rewarding.

  9. That is a nice one. Every door needs one of these.

  10. You don't see these very often any longer.

  11. We still have plenty of these around, but not all of them are so nice!

  12. I found some wonderful ones in Dublin but my ever practical husband talked me out of an impulse buy. There's a spot in Paris that's supposed to have a fine assortment that I hope to graze this fall. I may be impractical this time and bring one home. If you can't turn around and go back, Google "vintage door knocker" and see what comes up.

  13. I'd think twice about using this door knocker. The guy gives you a rather severs stare.

  14. I wonder if there is a local artist who might make them. Check out this guy: http://www.nikosculpture.com/

  16. Oh my. I miss so much everyday visits to my favorite daily photo blogs. The beautiful faces and the snow in Minnesota (who could guess sitting in Moscow?) and the talented works of art. Feels so good.
I like very much your photo in front of Bon Secours Hospital, smiling people.
And I promise to be back to art work soon!
Thank you so much for your comment.
