Touring the USS Yorktown, a floating aircraft carrier museum at Patriot Point in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina is a lesson in history. On one of the self-guided tours below deck I noticed this U.S Mailbox.

I remember when my hubby got letters in the mail from family when he was in the Air Force, it meant everything to him. Like the looks of this mailbox.

Looks like that mail box gets well used and have never thought of one being used on a ship before. I like the Auden poem and love it when it is spoken on the documentary film 'Night Mail'.
