Despite the crowded galleries and the poor lighting conditions for getting decent photos, I went to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts to photograph the event. Florists are assigned to a piece of art and then interpret it with a floral arrangement. The event lasts only three days because of the lifespan of the flowers so I had to brave the crowds. I did so with a light heart because I found a terrific parking space and the temperature was 63 degrees. Alleluia; after this terrible spring, the day was a delight.
The painting is "Tornado over St. Paul" and the arrangement amused me!!
What an interesting exhibit! That interpretation is good and amusing at the same time.....looks like he put your never ending snow around the base,
ReplyDeleteVERY creative! Glad to hear the snow is gone! Woohoo!!
ReplyDeleteVery cleverly interpreted Kate. Thanks for braving the crowds :)
ReplyDeleteI thought that arrangement looked like a tornado! :) Great interpretation of the art.
ReplyDeletewhat a creative way to use flowers!
ReplyDeleteI can see the tornado in the flower arrangement. Well done to you, the florist and the artist.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun place and a fun time. Funky arrangement! You have a good eye. I had to look twice to see what you were talking about!
ReplyDelete63 degrees is nice? Yikes. That's a cool night for us!
I like this little tornado arrangement.
ReplyDeleteFabulous!
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea for an art show!!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that an interesting concept? You would like the book HEART TO HEART which features poems that are influenced by art.
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty good representation of a tornado.
