Late afternoon in St. Paul, MN on April 18, 2013: During our last snowfall (I hope) on the 18th, our crabapple tree was full of dozens of robins. Seems odd to see these harbingers of spring in the midst of falling snow. Poor things! Our bird feeders were surrounded by cardinals and sparrows.

ReplyDeleteoh, poor things!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh....I was out lunching on a sunny patio and you were shoveling snow! Yikes! I love those beautiful robins.
ReplyDeleteOh my!
ReplyDeleteOh, good grief. You have to hardy to live in Minnesota. Or crazy? Lois' dad would curse the winter darkness and moan about those idiotic Swedes that moved to the state and now he was stuck there! :)
ReplyDeleteBut, summers are glorious! Except for the mosquitoes!
This winter never wants to end!
ReplyDeleteLovely birds but... where is Spring?
ReplyDeleteI had heard about the snow...and now seeing is believing. Goodness me!!!!! Love those robins. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, I hope your spring will come soon...
ReplyDeleteQuite a snowstorm for late April. Old man winter is having a hard time giving up this year!
ReplyDeleteNot sure who to feel sorry for...the Robins or Kate!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Kate! Many of my bird-watching friends (and some students, too) have noticed the flocks of robins congregating together, probably wondering how to find food.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should have stayed in the Carolina's for a few more weeks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute pair of birds.
ReplyDeleteLove that first shot, so sorry to see all that white stuff.
