This is one of the many light fixtures suspended from the ceiling at the Ikea store. I've only been there twice, and I'm not sure what I think about it. It certainly is popular so their merchandise must appeal to a large number of people. I particularly like the Marketplace where we bought pickled herring, lots of delightful jams, and swedish meatballs. Came home and made mushroom-swedish meatball soup. Was missing something, tho; need to keep experimenting. If you shop at one of their stores, what do you like or dislike about Ikea? |

ReplyDeleteDon't get me started on Ikea.....
ReplyDeletePass!
ReplyDeleteTurn out the lights on the Bears this weekend.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, IKEA! Reminds me of being in Sweden! I always have a "big accident" in their food shop: cheeses, chocolate, rye crisp, lingonberry jam, cookies, etc etc.
ReplyDeleteWe just bought an ASKO dishwasher which is made in Sweden - no more hand washing after our GE machine died!
I haven't been to Ikea in over a year but I do enjoy going. It's fun to wander around following the path they create and looking at the things they sell. I do own a few Ikea things.
ReplyDeleteI have only been to Ikea once with my sister in Phoenix. She bought things but I didn't. They have lovely things but just not the style that I like.
ReplyDeleteUnlike Sharon, I do not like the Idea they built in the Phoenix metro area. For me following the path made me feel like I was being flushed down a toilet. You end up at top and swirl you way down. Not a fun place for me.
ReplyDeleteI don't purchase much there but I like to roam the store once or twice a year as it's always clean and colourful. My sister-in-law like to shop there!
ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter was in business school, she outfit her apartment with IKEA stuff. It looked cool for a kid in her 20s. Unfortunately, my wife -- who is NOT in her 20s -- likes it, too, and has started bringing home stuff inappropriate for our rather traditional home. Help!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the clean, modern lines and the colorful patterns, but have only wandered the catalog, never a store. I do like those light fixtures, but they seem to have become ubiquitous, so I passed on one recently. Perhaps I should reconsider.
ReplyDeleteLight orbs, excellent image! Love the linear and circular linearity of this.
ReplyDeleteI can't stand the human habitrail known as IKEA. It is like walking, no, shuffling through a meandering unidirectional maze with no EXIT sign in sight. A very claustrophobic controlling space.
They do have incredibly low prices on cheap stuff.
