The Marjorie McNeely Conservatory (0.5 acres) in Como Park was first opened in 1915, and is open every day of the year. It includes gardens and galleries, one of which is the Sunken Garden that has seasonal displays of flowers. Follow this path and I'll show you more treasures.

Here's flowers for you; [Poinsettias, too!] Hot lavender, mints, savoury, marjoram; The marigold, that goes to bed wi' the sun And with him rises weeping: these are flowers Of middle summer, and I think they are given To men of middle age. The Winter's Tale (4.4.122-7) |
What a lovely photo - love the shape and texture and colour!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely display!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! The path has a real fairytale quality; it reminds me of the Land of the Munchkins in the Wizard of Oz.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. I love the colors of poinsettias.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful display of poinsettias. During the first part of December I took a trip to Washington DC and the National Gallery had wonderful displays of poinsettias too. This photo made me think of that.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Nothing for men of old age? That's discriminatory!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful though. I've been to Como Park but not the Conservatory.
Sounds rather chilly up in them thar parts!
I've tried to get to your blog by clicking on the link when you make a comment, but for the past two days I've gotten an error message...so I went right to the source. I'm having no problem with any other blog. Don't have a clue what's wrong.
Hope you have a great weekend! Stay warm!
Who would not want to follow that path!
