A ZILLION SPOTS/DOTS-ABC WEDNESDAY "Z"
Aren't these beautiful paintings?! |
All of these paintings are by artist, Farida Hughes, on exhibit in the Harry M. Drake Gallery at St Paul Academy and Summit School (where I used to teach in the English department) To see more ABC posts from bloggers throughout the world, click here. |

ReplyDeleteAnd here's Kate getting all artyfarty.
ReplyDeleteShe must be feeling better...
Great abstracts.
ReplyDeleteNot my favorite kind of art and a bit repetitive, but I have seen much worse things in respectable museums...
ReplyDeleteHuh! ??????????????????? Ya, I guess it really is in the eye of the beholder. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteStimulating shapes and colors on both a micro and macro level. Interesting also to see the varied comments above.
ReplyDeletePaintings like these need a lot of space to be displayed, which is why I think people see them more often in museums or large public spaces than in people's homes.
I like these very much!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely, Kate! Hope you're continuing to improve and enjoying the new year!
ReplyDeleteHA HA! A Zillion spots - good one for the meme, Kate!
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty! I like the colors.
ReplyDeleteThese would brighten up a room! Very interesting artwork.
ReplyDeleteI like the top red painting the best of those four!
ReplyDeleteThat is truly a zillion spots... clever selection for Z.
ReplyDeleteNow I like these and yes - a great idea for Z! Hope to see you for next round.

I like these very much. I can imagine they must be great fun to create, too.
ReplyDeleteI like the use of colour!
ReplyDeleteThe technique is new to me, but the results looked very well.
ReplyDeleteI hope all goes well with your arm!
Lovely, reminds me to tour MIA soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate!
ReplyDeleteHow's the weather? It was 32 here when I got up, which is illegal in Florida, but I don't whom to sue!
Re Chili's...everyone is different. We have two of them in Ocala. The one nearest our home was really awful for awhile, but they've recently changed management and now the food and the service is quite good. We go there about once a week.
One nice thing is that if you sit in the bar you get free, unlimited chips and salsa, and I do think Chili's chips are the best ever!
Very interesting! I like these paintings and would like to see them in person.
ReplyDeleteUnique post. Like the first photo, it has a Klimt feel.
ReplyDeleteThe paintings are beautiful! I can just imagine how they look in person.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting my blog and quoting me some Frost. The poem was perfect. :-)
