When I saw the white spire against the blue sky, I knew that I had to get out of the car and take some photos. It is a large modern structure firmly planted on a large green, well-landscaped lawn. Nowhere did I see any indication of the church's denomination,

I would've had to get out of the car too. Good looking scene. Perhaps it's a non-denominational church? Those have become quite popular.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was plopped down on that building by accident. How interesting.
ReplyDeleteVery modern! I imagine it's non denominational, but probably evangelical in its approach.
ReplyDeleteIt started out with a conservative Baptist affiliation but now is a typical independent fundamentalist group out to save the world for Jesus...the pastor's training was in ultra-conservative fundamentalist schools. They insist every word in the Bible is true and the Word of God, that we are all sinners because the mythical Adam and Eve screwed up and thus in the theory of substutionary atonement which means that Jesus died for our sins and the only way to be saved is to be "born again" because without that you will burn in hell forever. Still they will tell you god is love! It's all the same old crap but they get tons of people because they can con them because most people know nothing of the Bible or Xtn history and they put together a lot of programs for all ages which many find attractive. I could write a book about these places which in the end are hotbeds of negativity, hostility toward feminists and other minorities, hatred of liberals and any government programs that actually help people. I'll guarantee they are comorised of 99.9% Republicans and these so-called Xtns are the ones that put Trump in the White House!
ReplyDeleteInteresting church, but I still like the older and more traditional ones.
ReplyDeleteWhen my husband see a church that doesn't have an indication of a demonization....he calls it a church of what's happening now. I have no idea what that is supposed to mean? I do like the while steeple and blue sky.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it's another of the Baskin Robbins denominational approach. Flavors to suit all tastes.
ReplyDeleteYou should link up with the InSPIREd Sundays meme. I usually post a church photo on Sundays on my blog and link it up with that meme.
