Good bye, Abby--good memories: For several years now a friend and I pick up donated bread, rolls and pastries at one of the Turtle Bakeries on Monday mornings and then drop the food off at a local food shelf. While waiting for the donation, we normally indulge in coffee and rolls, and during this time we have made a friend who often brings his neighbour's dog to the restaurant. Abby is everyone's favourite and we enjoy both of them enormously. Much to our displeasure Abby's owners will be moving this week so we had to say good-bye to her. The neighbour, Glenn, who sometimes walks Abby to Turtle is not moving so we will continue to see him, but we all will miss Abby.

What a pretty dog with such a friendly face. I would miss her too!
ReplyDeleteAbby looks like a friendly dog. I'm sure you'll miss her. We often have a dog on our mountain hikes (when we walk in non-parks areas) and we all love him dearly too. His mistress tells me he goes to bowls with them (and is loved by all) goes on these hikes I mentioned and also goes to church with them every Sunday!
ReplyDeleteIt's true that we become quite attached to our canine and feline companions. They bring so much joy to our lives and so much sadness when they leave!
ReplyDeleteA pretty dog who likes people too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie Abby must be.
ReplyDeleteHow sad to have a friend like Abbie move away from her neighborhood. What a fine looking dog she is. And, good for you to pick up and deliver baked goods to a food pantry. I am on the board of our local food pantry. These places do good work feeding needy families.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to miss them.
ReplyDeleteAwww, sorry to see her go. What a beautiful dog!
