In the photos below you can see some of the rot and also the many holes where the racoon families had their "nursery" and where the squirrels moved in after it was vacated by previous families!

These guys really have to know what they are doing so they don't demolish half the neighborhood or kill themselves!
ReplyDeleteOh Kate I made the mistake of reading this post first and thought oh no, why is that big old tree being cut down.. but after going back and reading the story I totally see why it had to go, even if it was on Earth Day :) the thing that made me smile the most was imagining you 'giddy and gleeful' :) :)
