Before "the woodcutter" could start the final stages, the huge trunk which I showed you yesterday had to be felled. They cut a wedge into the side, took one of the big pieces of equipment, and just shoved it over.

VISUAL SAINT PAUL
It is quite a profession, we also had it done by proffesionals.
ReplyDeleteI'm still amazed at the size of this thing. Reminds me of the redwoods in California! Hope your weather has warmed up and you're enjoying a beautiful Minnesota spring! I miss Minnesota a lot - not the cold and snow but the Twin Cities are pretty special.
ReplyDeleteI know it is necessary some times but still.. every cut tree I see saddens me
ReplyDeleteAn amazing amount of work going into this process.
ReplyDeleteThat takes great care.
ReplyDeleteIt's a heck of a size that trunk, those guys really know what they're doing. Well that's it then.. tree gone, those critters will be looking for a new home, you had better guard your roof Kate ☺
ReplyDeleteLooks like they are doing a fine job cutting the massive tree up.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots ~ quite an event ~ cutting big tree down ~ thanks,
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy Week ~ ^_^
Well I would be out there with you. It is interesting to see people who know what they are doing...going about such work.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks as if the heartwood of that trunk was dead and gone. Clearly it's time had come. It might have some beautiful lumber. I don't suppose any woodworkers were able to grab it up?
ReplyDeleteNo, no woodworkers around to claim any of the wood. Too bad!
DeleteTIMBER!
