Rural Sights
These hay bales have always intrigued me, and I have often wanted to stop to photograph them but never did. I saw these on Washington Island during our vacation and was able to snap them with relative ease--rural road with absent or slow traffic. There is something about their colour, size and regularity that pleases me.

I am also intrigued. I think it's colour and the pattern.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I often take pictures of those big round bales when I'm lucky enough to be able to pull off the road.
ReplyDeleteThey give off a sense of tranquility.
ReplyDeletethis is such a common site here but one of my favorite scenes!
ReplyDeleteThey always seemed to be box-shaped when I was a kid!
ReplyDeleteI always like seeing scenes like this. I never have seen anyone around when I come across these, they just appear like magic.
ReplyDeleteRound or rectangular doesn't matter. I love to see a field of baled hay.
ReplyDeleteIt is always a pretty sight. We see them here also already packed in white plastic lying on the field. That I don't like so much to see.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of haying here, too, and we often have round bales like these. But I'm intrigued by the variation in sizes that you've shown. Ours are uniform and uniformly large. I didn't know there could be such different sizes.
