A tight Squeeze

After the occupants of the black car had parked and left the car, the red van pulled into the next spot; the sweet young thing who was driving the big "honker" hopped out of the car and went on her way. . .totally oblivious of the parking problem she had created. The surprised Subaru owners discovered a bit of a issue when they returned, and I, of course, whipped out my camera to record the picture above, in the event that any damage would occur.  As we stood behind the cars discussing the maneuverability of either car, the sweet young thing returned to her van, a bit surprised at what she had created. No apologies.  I admired the gentleman at the wheel of the Subaru (no cussin' or hollerin'); he helped to correct the situation by verbal instructions to the other driver.  Nary a scratch on either car. And, no thank you!

  2. Oh my, how she got in there without scratching the other vehicle to bits I'll never know. Thank goodness there was a solution!

  3. Unbelievable. I am speechless. I thought people in Minnesota were a lot smarter and more considerate than this.

And I bet there were lots of empty a spacious parking spaces just a few yards away.

My wife's SUV has a 360 degree camera. She can see exactly how far she is from the lines on all sides of parking spaces. She also makes it her habit to park far away, where there are no cars around, both to get some exercise and to make sure that she does not get door dings from other cars' doors.

  4. She definitely had some luck when it came to the owner of the other car. Luckily for both, there was no damage.

  5. what a rude "sweet young thing"! wow, i can't even believe she was able to get that close without causing a scratch. amazing...and how nice of the subaru owner to be so well mannered on this situation. "sweet young thing" could learn a thing or two from him. i would have been mortified to learn i caused that mess of a parking job!

  14. "Sweet young thing" is overly kind. I'd substitute a "clueless" and consider myself polite. Heck, it's about "polite," isn't it? "Thank you," "please," and "so sorry" go far in my book. I prefer not to stay angry, but I need the balm of a polite word or two to let it go. "Sweet young thing's" car is the sort that can get keyed for that very reason. (No, I never get angry enough to do that.)

  17. This has actually happened to a friend's car twice when I've been with her. The first time, the car was parked at such an angle, that even had one of us managed to crawl across to the driver's side, we still would not have been able to back out. Thankfully, the woman returned after only a ten minute wait and was most apologetic. The second time, a complete stranger helped back her car out before the other driver could appear.

  18. I think that every car that I have owned has had a ding on it a from parking lot. Costco has the best parking with plenty of space for "sweet young things".
