I just inadvertently deleted the original post with all the comments, but I am restoring the photo and quote again to provide continuity.
“Hunters will tell you that a moose is a wily and ferocious forest creature. Nonsense. A moose is a cow drawn by a three-year-old.”
― Bill Bryson, A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail
To see more Camera Critters, go here.
Having seen a few in person, I can understand Bryson's quote. They are amazing, cow-like or completely moose.
ReplyDeleteHe made me laugh so much in that book, and I've seen my share of moose and other mountain critters.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great book. And I like the rendering, though I'll bet the artist was well over three years old.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful illustration for a Children's Book. A talanted artist!
ReplyDeleteI remember that book. It was one of Bryson's funniest books. (Nice moose!)
ReplyDeleteI love this image. The little bird on his left antler is a perfect touch. I am so sorry you lost all of your comments. That sounds like something I would do.
ReplyDeleteI had to update mine three times due to blogger error! I am so glad you reposted it!

We use to go see moose all the time when we lived in Maine. Actually they can be quiet mean especially if the cow has any young nearby.
Happy weekend!
Love Bill Bryson's travel books, he is hilarious..
ReplyDeleteit's a very pretty painting - great light! and great legs on that moose! :)
