The Arth House-July 2012 Theme Day: CHIMNEYS
The Arth House on Ramsey Hill in St. Paul, Minnesota was built in 1886 for $4,600. Despite a sign in the front, I found no information on the internet regarding this home. I would love to know more about it so I could share it with you. The "twisty" chimney is amazing!! I first learned about this spectacular chimney from Lucas by a post on her blog, Picture St. Paul.
Click here to view thumbnails for all participants. Added later: Because the portal is down, please go to this site to see some of the posts for this theme day; Julie of Sydney, Australia, has set this up again for us while CDP is being repaired.
DH and I will be visiting my sister in Green Bay, Wi and also vacationing in Door County for awhile, but I have posts scheduled while I'm gone. I will check your blogs to be sure not to miss anything, and I'll comment as often as possible.

ReplyDeleteGreat choice for this theme.
ReplyDeleteIncredible. Makes me dizzy just looking at it! Wonderful theme day post!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome twisted design.
ReplyDeleteNow there's a new twist for chimney construction. The mason was probably all in a knot before placing the last brick in that chimney!
ReplyDeleteThis has got to be one of the most unique chimneys I've seen today Kate, fantastic find.
ReplyDeleteWow! This one makes the smoke work!
ReplyDeleteWonderful twisty chimney - what a find!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful chimney - great find!
ReplyDeleteNow that's the strangest chimney I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteFantastic chimney, Kate! Now I wish I thought to look for and post a great chimney from here in East Gwillimbury.
ReplyDeleteInteresting!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic catch for theme day! Your library or historical society or town hall may have more information on this unusual house.
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing! I have never seen anything like it.
ReplyDeletefabulous chimney. very artistic
ReplyDeleteYou've put a whole new twist on the theme day subject!

ReplyDelete'That is an amazingly unique chimney, captured perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI guess they had a twisted personality ha ha.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. I have never seen anything like this. Coming home after a few drinks and looking up at this chimney could be sobering. (If someone built something like this on the beach in Costa Rica, it might make the crabs walk straight and the lobsters walk sideways.)
ReplyDeleteHave a good trip back to your native Wisconsin.
What a great chimney for theme day!
ReplyDeleteI forgot what theme day was this month. I should have checked here first. I like the chimney. Looks like it could be in one of those 60s Disney movies.
ReplyDeleteNo tech issue with my camera. I have pins in my left hand and a huge cast over it. My luck im also left handed so i cant write and using a mouse right handed sucks, lol.
Wow, my favorite chimney for theme day!
ReplyDeleteOK, Kate, tell the truth: Are you the one who picks the themes? This is an amazing find for a "chimneys" theme.
ReplyDeleteI love that chimney!!! I'll bet the house is fabulous...
ReplyDeleteWhat an extraordinary chimney! The art of laying bricks - and let's hope that the smoke finds the intended escape route.
ReplyDeleteThis is great, Kate! You've outdone yourself! Unfortunately, I didn't find chimneys this month. . .and the two that I thought were passable turned out to be cupolas (sigh). Hope you have nice travels.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I've never seen anything like it. Wow.
ReplyDeleteA unique and perfect fit for the day!
ReplyDeletethat is so unusual, I'd love one of those. Shame there is no information about the place.
