Meet Cristina from Bucharest, Romania. We met her in a very fine restaurant in Bailey's Harbor, Door County, WI called the Harbor Fish Market and Grill. Cristina comes to the County each summer to work as a hostess and staff member in one of the restaurants there. Three years ago she participated in a students' Work and Travel program, and lucky for her and us, she was assigned to Door County. She is a personable and beautiful young woman and served us very well at breakfast the day after the fourth of July.

Another great portrait shot for you!
ReplyDeleteHow many 'strangers' have you photographed? 100 that would be a real challenge for me in more ways then one.
ReplyDeleteI just completed #88. Started on January 2nd, 2009. It's an interesting concept. I could have completed 100 long ago but there have been lapses along the way!
DeleteChristiana makes a beautiful addition to your on going project of 100/strangers!
ReplyDeleteShe's quite pretty!
ReplyDeleteKate, I think it would invade my comfort zone, however; I do like a good challenge. We'll see. I might have more trouble with 100 friends. hahaha
ReplyDeleteWe have several young contract workers from Eastern Europe in our resort area every summer. They are hard working friendly folks.
ReplyDeleteHello Christiana! Fantastic idea Kate to pursue this project. You must meet some amazing people, like your subject today :^)
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely portrait to add to your collection!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful portrait. In Scottsdale, there are Romanians who operate many of the senior citizen care homes. Julie's grandmother is in her second such home. The people I have met in that profession perform a very difficult job, physically and emotionally, with grace and caring.
ReplyDeleteExcellent portrait Kate. You almost there.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful project you are taking part in. By the time you are finished you will have 100 friends not 100 strangers.
ReplyDeleteHostessing is a perfect job for her. She has a welcoming smile.
ReplyDeleteShe is charming and I'll bet a very good waitress. I was reading about Door County the other day - in the AARP magazine, I believe. AARP gave it a very high rating. (Yes, I'm old enough to belong to AARP.)
ReplyDeleteAnd I must take umbrage with your comment. I've been called many things but never, so far as I recall, have I been called a "purist." Sheesh. Ah...what does that mean?
Just kidding you! I have been called boorish, though.
Cristiana or Cristina? Anyway its a lovely name and a beautiful portrait!
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful, Kate! We've met so many people from other countries doing what she has done. Our most recent encounter was in the town of East Glacier, Montana.
ReplyDeleteThe more portraits you take, Kate, the better you get. This one shines.
ReplyDeleteShe has a lovely smile!
