We finally succumbed and hired someone to plow our snow this season, especially after our record snow falls last year.  This man with the friendly wave is not our snow removal guy, but he offered a friendly greeting.  Wonder if he's looking for business?  Doesn't have to look very far!

  1. We used to live by Mt Lassen and had a walk behind snow plow, one snow storm it broke and we counted 980 shovels full of snow to hand shovel our driveway, we had a lot of snow that year we had seven foot drifts in front of our house at the end of the year. Ha. Don't envy you all that snow but help is sure welcome to remove it.

  5. What a great idea. A person with a snow plow can make some extra money doing this.

  6. For some folks this would be a nice way to make some extra cash during the winter.

Funny thing; I don't miss shoveling snow off drives, cars, steps, etc., at all! :-)

  7. We've gotten several advertisements for snow removal already. We haven't had any major snowfalls yet, so it's hard for me to imagine what it's going to be like. I'm a little scared!

  8. Wow, that is quite a lot of snow already! I was just excited today because I thought I saw frost this morning. Looks like the friendly guy will be busy this year, too :-)

  9. That is a handy rig to have, and a bright color against the snow too.

  10. I'm sure his business will be steady all winter. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that!

  12. We've just had hard frost so far, and our snow is generally light enough that we can wait for it to melt rather than shovel or plow it. Looks like you'd have a very long winter if you took that approach! Nice to see a spot of color against that snow!

  15. I remember growing up in St. Louis, I had a friend who would plow driveways and parking lots. They made good money, real good money if it snowed on bingo night and the lots needed to be cleaned.

  16. Oh my, I didn't even know you could hook a snow plow to a jeep like that (guess I'd better stay in Hawaii huh?)!

  17. You have had this much snow? My goodness, we haven't had enough to shovel yet. It must be dumping on Minnesota before it has a chance to get here.

  18. I have a friend from Buffalo who hates the snow. Being from Southern Cal & not seeing much of it unless I was up in the Sierra... it is still novel to me! Now if I lived where it snowed ALOT, I could see where it could get troublesome... especially on the commute to work! This guy looks happy, though- he's waving at you, Kate!
