About two months ago I showed you some objects of pottery made by a former colleague of mine. This is my very favorite piece in his exhibit. To refresh your memory, look again here and here.
Gorgeous!! I love looking at other peoples clay works! I almost bought a new mug at the farmer's mkt yesterday, but I had to exercise restraint! I have plenty of mugs... but I keep thinking about this one I picked up... I love how certain mugs feel in your hand. I love pieces that are made by hand rather than mass produced crapola.
I think everyone should have a friend who is an accomplished ceramic artist. Julie and I do, and every year a bunch of us go over to his house in about October and we stock up on gifts for the holiday season.
Except, his best work we buy or ourselves. We have about 25 or so of his pieces on display in our house, and people love them.
I can see why this is your favorite. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMight this be by the 'mad' Platter? hahaha Dear Alice would be happy to scan it.
ReplyDeleteYour friend is very talented Kate.Must be nice to be so artistic.
ReplyDeleteYour friend does very good work, Kate. Enjoy your day!

ReplyDeleteVery nice. I'm wondering what something like this would cost if he were to sell it?
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful piece of pottery, Great Kate! I have a weakness for pottery....
