The nice house in yesterday's post looks unused, yet the bird in today's photo made her nest in a rather exposed fountain. That is one problem with birds. Sometimes they make their nests where they want to rather than where we want them to. We have roll-out shades on our Scottsdale house that provide nesting sites for several families of sparrows.
Now that's an inspired place to nest and a lovely photo. I love the way that birds use what is available. They are such opportunists. We have a Canada Goose here that has nested in someone's boat.
A cute, cozy critter! I'll post a photo of the baby birds on our front door soon.... Thanks for your dog comments before and after the BLOGGER web problem!
What a majestic support for a nest!
ReplyDeletePlease don't turn the water on! I trust there will be follow-up posts in due course.

ReplyDeleteThis must be uptown living!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. It's rather a fail for nest camouflage, though.

It's not always easy to find a place to build one's nest. But once you have your nest egg, you'd better have a place!
