Lake Superior shoreline ABC WEDNESDAY -"L"
I have loved living within reasonable driving distance to two of the Great Lakes during my life: Lake Michigan in Wisconsin and Illinois or Lake Superior in Minnesota. These two beautiful bodies of water have shorelines that are picturesque yet quite different. Here I have three views of the Superior shoreline. I think it's time again to make another trip to Duluth for a few days to enjoy this powerful lake.

I love the North Shore. Our last trip there was in 1987 but we had a great time...stayed over in Grand Marais then into Canada for breakfast. Lois' grandparents owned a cabin near Grand Marais. Great country but watch the mosquitos. They are pretty big. In fact, I had a friend who was in Duluth and ran into a bunch of Minnesota Mosquitoes. The next thing he knew they'd carried him down to Iowa and dumped him in Des Moines.
ReplyDeleteI've only seen Lake Michigan, and that was only in Chicago. I'd love to see them all, as well as go down the full length of the Mississippi.
ReplyDeleteLovely shoreline photos. Lake Superior does have a rocky shore. We use to rent bare sailboat charters out of Bayfield and spend two weeks sailing through the Apostle Islands. Grew up along the shore of Lake Michigan in Chicago and Wisconsin. Had lots of fun with those Great Lakes.
ReplyDeleteWonderful views. I've spent more time around Lakes Ontario and Huron, but I've been to each of them in turn.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views, must be very special to live that near to it.

I remember a holiday when I was a kid and we circled all around Superior - it was beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots Kate. I remember when I worked in Chicago, my apartment had a view of Lake Michigan and I always loved that view. I love a lake so big it could be an ocean.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have only seen Lake Michigan.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child we took a ship across Lake Michigan. I think it took something like 6 or 7 hours. I've heard that the ship is now a museum. I wish I remembered more about the lake. I do remember that quite a few people were seasick. I don't think I've ever seen Lake Superior.
ReplyDeleteMy parents-in-law just saw their last two great lakes, Huron and Superior!

Why is it that large bodies of water inspire such peaceful thoughts I wonder, I couldn't live anywhere else than by the sea. Lovely images here Kate ✨
