A Hero Dreams
What could be more fun than going to a reading by an author who was one of your 8th grade Humanities students?! A successful lawyer, Mark Ristau decided to give it up to devote time to writing. Last night a good crowd and I at Common Good Books in Saint Paul listened to Mark launch the first novel of his planned trilogy.
I love readings, went to two in one week!
ReplyDeleteAs a former teacher, it's always a pleasure to see what my former students are doing.
ReplyDeleteFascinating. Was he a good student? I wonder what his trilogy is all about? If it's WWII I will read it.
ReplyDeleteGood for him!
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic for you to see him and for Mark following his dream, excellent! Happy weekend Kate, I hope you are healing nicely ✨
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that must make you feel just a bit proud.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! You must be proud! And it was good to get out & about!
ReplyDeleteYou must have been a good influence as a teacher for a man to give up the law for the pen.
ReplyDeleteGood for him, you must feel very proud in playing a part in his life. Hope you are healing without any problems.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been a pleasure. What do you think of the book?
ReplyDeleteWow that is so awesome Kate!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet he enjoyed you being there as well. I'm happy for both of you.
ReplyDeleteWell looks like you did a great job teacher"
