Children of Cuba

Since Cuba is very much in the news, I thought you might like to see some of the children who may benefit from the recent political changes between their country and ours. I refrain from making any political judgments, but I hope that their lives will change for the better! This is one of the schools our group visited a few years ago while I was in that beautiful country.

  1. I remember well your photos from there. I don't discuss politics either.....but I hope for a brighter future for these sweet faces.

  2. Time to end the embargo? Although it would spoil certain elements of Cuban life, overall it makes no sense to most of the rest of the world.

  3. Listening to the news, there are certainly a lot of mixed feelings about this change. I agree that doing the same thing for 50 years and expecting a different result is not the smartest idea.

  4. Hopefully their lives will improve significantly, although I'm sure it won't happen overnight.

  6. It's about time. From this side of the border, the embargo has always seemed foolish.

  7. Glad the embargo will be lifted. Just hope Cuba doesn't lose its soul.

    1. Actually, the embargo has not been lifted, which would take an act of Congress. Diplomatic ties have been re-established. I am not sure what that means for the Cuban people and their government. . .more freedom? Hard to tell; it's too early yet. Sure has created a storm of controversy here in the states.
