Christmas can be a time of "Bah Humbug" because of the commercialization of an important religious holiday or it can be one of joy. I prefer the latter. The twinkling lights, the decorated trees in public and private spaces, the smiles (and tears, too) of little ones sitting on Santa's lap, hugs and kisses of friends and families as they meet and greet one another, and the sweet sound of carolers are all aspects of the season that make me appreciate the holiday. Been there, done that but happy for another go around!

I like your positive spirit, Kate!
ReplyDeleteWell said Kate! That's Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI like Christmas decorations and the particular atmosphere of this time.
ReplyDeleteAre you also singing "O Tannenbaum", Kate?
I agree!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree. I don't think I'm going to put one up this year. I still haven't hung pictures at my new place and the office is still in a bit of a disarray so I may just get a few decorations out and that's it.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to answer your question about Pink Martini from the other day. I think you would like their first album "Sympathique". It's the one that got me hooked on them. Also, their Christmas album "Joy to the World" is fantastic and not just for Christmas.
the first shot is perfect christmas card material. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that first shot! Christmas bells!
ReplyDeletePretty in both cases, Kate!
ReplyDeleteIndeed. I try to avoid the commercialization and enjoy the spirit of the season. btw My father was a serious Minneopolitanphobe but one a year my mom persuade him to drive us all to the Mill City because as she said Daytons had the best Christmas windows... circa the fifties...:)
ReplyDeleteJoy is on my long list......Janey
ReplyDeleteLove that first shot! And it's time to get ours decorated; it's quietly waiting for me.
ReplyDeleteJoy is laudable. Happy for another go round, too. But occasionally I miss people I've shared it all with in years long past.
Well said, and agreed.
ReplyDeleteLove that first shot.
ReplyDeletei completely agree with you!
ReplyDeleteThat first photo is very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a time of joy for me! I find that Germans don't get in the spirit so much though...
ReplyDeleteWie grün sind deine Blätter? Du grünst nicht nur zur Sommerzeit, nein, auch im Winter wenn es schneit.
