When Jim and I want a light meal at a reasonable price we invariably go to Cafe Latte on Grand Avenue where the menu includes nourishing and healthy sandwiches, salads, and soups. Before making our selection we have to pass by the showcase that displays delicious cakes and pastries. Most patrons have very good intentions but very weak resolve!!
What masterpieces those are. Tom and I are eating lighter these days...We know every place in town that has a good cup of soup. But, a sweet to finish the meal is sometimes shared.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your research attempting to find the type of bird I am showing on my site. I have the book on the Birds of Costa Rica that you mentioned. I also have a book on Costa Rican Wildlife that has a decent section on birds. Both books give little attention to birds that appear to be from the vulture family, favoring instead the more attractive species.
I wouldn't be able to pass by the cakes. A piece of that vanilla cheesecake sounds so good right now! :)

ReplyDeleteThis is funny! We had the very same temptation today at our "Crumb Grabbers" bakery. We had a wonderful lunch seated next to their display case that winked, sang, and hummed away the entire time we were there. A tiny German chocolate cake (no more than 4" across) came home with us. Your sirens above look glorious.
