Here are Two Paintings
Are they of the same subject?
Ask Hazel to know.
Yesterday I introduced you to Hazel Belvo, artist, writer, mentor, and former colleague. The Gallery at St. Paul Academy-Summit School, where we both used to teach, is currently exhibiting some of Hazel's work, a 4-year retrospective of her paintings.
To see more ABC WEDNESDAY for the letter "T" go here.
Maybe one is inspired by the other? Both very nice.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the same colors are used, I believe it to be two different subjects.
ReplyDeleteCould be before and after I put on my readers!
ReplyDeleteLove the warm colors!
Love the colors in these cheery paintings.
ReplyDeletemy guess is yes...looks like a different view of the garden :) nice and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteThe first one looks like a reflection in a pond or puddle, or seen through a rain-streaked window. The second one looks like it's being viewed in bright sunshine. :-) I like them both - beautiful colors - but the first one is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess same subject, different vantage point.
ReplyDeleteI like the first blaze of color!
ReplyDeleteI'd say yes Kate..fields of flowers.

Kate, «Louis» was very happy to see that you stopped by San Francisco Bay Daily Photo!
ReplyDelete«Louis» has very little time to visit and comment these days, but he hadn't forgotten about you!
Both are wonderful. If they were mine I'd say they were the same, done at different times of the day. What a wonderful talent!
ReplyDeleteI don't know a lot about art. But I like these. They remind me a bit of Monet.
ReplyDeleteRe your question: Yes, and will be posting on the blog at L & L Photography. I'm getting too old to keep all those blogs going! :-)
I always admire somebody who paints. I can hardly hold a pencil, it is not my speciality.
ReplyDeleteI'd say yes they're the same topic, but I prefer the first one.

These are wonderful. I think the first one is a windblown version of the second.
ReplyDeleteBroadly, yes, they are both paintings of flowers, but in detail, no, they are different kinds of flowers. The first might be something spiky, like salvia, and the second might be something round, like roses.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful works!
ReplyDeleteGreat colors! You should drop by my blog tomorrow and submit this to my orange bases meme, Orange You Glad It's Friday :) Hope to see you there!
