Re your comment on my comment: Maybe I made a misjudgment but the last time we stopped at that rest stop it was really grubby and run-down and did not leave a good impression of Minnesota. Or maybe they've spruced things up since. Or maybe I misrecall...that could happen.
Re your other other comment: What political self? Who, me?
that's a nice welcome sign!
ReplyDeleteYou mean the natives say y'all in Minnesota too?
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing...Y'all used in Minnesota. I think of it as being used in the south. Nice welcome sign. genie
ReplyDeleteKathy and Genie, Actually it isn't used here. It's just an affectation of mine as an affectionate paen to my southern friends!
ReplyDeleteAnd your southern friends thank you!
ReplyDeleteI've always felt welcome when I've visited!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've seen that sign. One thing Minnesota could do to make visitors more welcome is fix up their welcome center on I-94... :-)
ReplyDeleteI'll be sure to remember that Kate!
ReplyDeleteI left Minnesota in 1997 .. after 24 years. Folks still ask me if I'm from MN after just a few sentences! I'm nice too.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the old saying? You can take the girl out of Minnnesota, but you can't take Minnesota out of the girl!
DeleteMaybe we should do a blogger summit there. Nice welcome sign.
ReplyDeleteEvery state/province should have a beautiful welcoming gateway sign. It is much better than the usual boring road sign looking ones.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to welcome visitors!

ReplyDeleteI remember it as a beautiful state!
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you, Minnesota. I appreciate the hospitality.
ReplyDeleteDrove through 'sota in '76. Summer there was nice.
ReplyDeleteI have a picture of myself with a Minnesota welcome sign somewhere. I do like a state that knows how to welcome people!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place!
ReplyDeleteVery cool sign!
