Delfeayo Marsalis-Jazz Fest #2

Delfeayo Marsalis is one of the top trombonists, composers and producers in jazz today.  The crowd that turned out to see and hear him last Friday night were not disappointed.  Like the rest of his family, he's a multi-talented musician.  In January 2011, Delfeayo and the Marsalis family (father Ellis and brothers Branford, Wynton and Jason) earned the nation's highest jazz honor--a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters Award.

To see a collage I posted of Jason Marsalis I took at the 2010 Jazz Fest, go here!! (Actually I thought that Jason was a lot cuter and just as talented as his big brother.)

  8. Lucky music lovers! Are you a fan of HBO's Treme series? I am, waiting patiently for season three in the Fall. Talk about JAZZ.

  9. Have seen Wynton Marsalis in concert several times. Had no idea he came from this talented family. (if this is the same family) We have a Jazz in AZ group in Arizona which has a great series each year.

  10. Great shots, and what a treat for you to see him! I didn't realize there were four brothers (I'm not a great jazz fan). What a talented family.

  11. Love jazz and think I've got some Marsalis records...from one of them! I'll bet you have a super time. I did check out your fine collage, but didn't think you were supposed to notice "cut". Does Jim know about this jazz infatuation? Hmmm?

  12. This must have been fun. Good portraits. In the summer, there are so many concerts going on at the same time it is hard to decide where to go!
