Special Sunday
During the school year, students at St. Catherine's University are involved with the Sunday services, usually with their many musical talents. The instruments and their voices fill the chapel, but on one special Sunday, we were treated to a medley of dances at various points of the service.

Liturgical dancing - fun to watch and try to interpret! I haven't been inside that chapel since we lived on Wellesley Ave!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting and gives a new spirit to the mass.
ReplyDeleteThis must have been inspiring to see.
ReplyDeleteI do not remember seeing dancing in church, except when we did a Sunday morning Harlem Gospel tour.
ReplyDeleteThank you for educating me about chickens being the most common birds. I would have guessed pigeons, until considering the huge numbers of chickens processed for food.
When I worked for a Member of Congress, I toured a chicken processing plant that was in our district. That is a long story that might be disagreeable for describing on a family blog, but it was certainly memorable.
This might even bring Catholics back.
ReplyDeleteNow I start thinking about something lilac, maybe scarf..
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lowell. It's like when the Native Americans dance in the Basilica.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a treat!
ReplyDeleteSee? People! Thanks for your comment today. I have noticed that you are showing many more shots of people. So am I. I am trying to move from posed people grinning at the camera to more natural shots, like this one, with people going about their business. Not always, but sometimes.
ReplyDeleteCool. I've never seen people dancing in church! Was there a particular occasion that merited dancers and made this Sunday so special?
ReplyDeleteI had no idea about dancing in catholic church, interesting, and women no less, but then again I haven't been to church in 40 years, purple seems to be an appropriate litergical color though, quite striking in this scene.
ReplyDelete... And there are no other places with such great acoustics as churches.
ReplyDeleteI bet it sounded wonderful!
