Great candid! Kate, I zoomed in on the house in the background of the photo on my site but it didn't turn out very well so I deleted it. However, I can tell you it was a very large house as were a lot of the houses out in that area. When I drive around in areas of the valley like this where all the homes are huge and most are in gated communities, it boggles my mind the amount of money that is spent on places like that.
I'm wondering if they were thirsty? Look at the glasses in the chair. I have friends who stayed at a monastery in Thailand and didn't speak for weeks. Good choice for wordless Weds!
It must have been a lovely day for eating outside.
ReplyDeleteNice snap!

Buddhisn't that in Thailand?
ReplyDeleteNope! Buddhist in St. Paul in one of my favorite Thai restaurants!! We're more diverse than you think!!
DeleteThat's something you don't see everyday!
ReplyDeleteNow I know what monks do when they are off-duty: sit around and people-watch. :) Or pose for pictures by Kate.
ReplyDeleteThey are a long way from home, nice photo!
ReplyDeleteI have a dear friend, born in Texas and raised very Christian, who has become a Buddhist nun in Illinois. They're not all Asian or male!

ReplyDeleteExcellent choice! I have imagined many words for the scene.
ReplyDeleteWe see Buddhists here as well, and yes, they're not always Asian.
ReplyDeleteIt's still a little surprising to me to see monks sipping coffee or taking a bus like the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteExcellent capture! The one on the right almost looks like he is trying to hide from your camera! Love this, Kate!
