Black Pearls

A gardener at Longfellow Garden told me that the "pearls" on this annual plant turn red when they ripen. An Hispanic visitor to the garden told her that he hasn't seen them for a very long time, loved them but they are really, really HOT!!

They grow quite close to the ground and look like black jewels before they ripen and are quite beautiful to see.

  2. Hot pepper for sure. Don't rub your eyes after touching them.
Thanks for the comment on my blog. I was at home getting ready for work and watching the news when the attacts started. At first the news people thought it was an accident until the next plane hit---my oh my---such tragedy. We do not forget.

  3. I think that's also the name for one of my favorite brand of olives.
