Instead of going to early morning church on the first Sunday after Central Daylight time begins (losing one hour), I decided to mine my archives and show you this beautiful church entrance. For those of you who live in this geographical area or one similar. motivation to take one's camera for a photo shoot is rather low because it is still very cold, gray, dark and dank. A prayer to the Gods: please encourage spring to arrive early!!

On gray days, Kate, keep your camera with you and take closer photos (like the one above) that omit the gray sky and take more portrait photos. Cloudy days are great for even light instead of the harsh light and shadow we get on bright sunny days.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly knew how to create stunning doors back then, so intricately carved. I confess to never being without my camera Kate.. I think you are looking forward to spring as keenly as I am looking forward to autumn 😊
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shot!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful door. I don't blame you for not going out.
ReplyDeleteThat is extreme beautiful. St. Paul's Cathedral?
ReplyDeleteA very distinctive entrance!
ReplyDeleteI recommend an art gallery, if they allow photography. That'll help fill in some time while spring takes its sweet time establishing itself.
This more than doors... it's art. The details are amazing.
ReplyDeletethat is beautiful! our spring is on hold now, snow coming tonight!

ReplyDeleteI'm praying for spring too! Snow for us tonight though!
ReplyDeleteFabulous details in your pic!
I have fulfilled the requested mission.
