Looking Up is always a good idea. While walking Wild Wendy yesterday afternoon, I spied this beautiful old weather vane so now I need to find more of these in the neighborhood. I removed the one from the top of my garage years ago and have it affixed on the wall above my kitchen window.

Nice shot with that blue sky background. What a cool weather vane, never seen one like this but have seen ones similar to yours.
ReplyDeleteI always love to discover a nice weather vane. I like both of these!
ReplyDeleteYou don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.
ReplyDeleteI do like weather vanes, but don't see many of them here. Maybe because our hurricanes tend to airmail them to Alaska? And I think you need to modify your statement that it's always good to look up. I took your advice last night and walked right into a bush, which made me fall down into a pile of red ants, which started biting me and made me scream, so I got up and ran like hell right into a wall. When I woke up it was dark but I finally made it all the way home.
ReplyDelete(P.S. I just made all that up. Did I fool you a little at first?)
Those are great. Good idea to put it on the wall too!
ReplyDeleteThey stand out well.
ReplyDeleteI love the carriage vane. Great find. I literally talk to myself when out with my camera, "Look up!" I have a gimpy leg and tend to look down while walking.
ReplyDeleteLooking up is a good idea though I have a tendency to trip if I don't pay attention...
ReplyDeleteI like all three of these weather vanes. It's a tossup between the horse and the horse, carriage and rider. Yours looks like it's made a very nice wall ornament.
