Other-worldly Bakery
Before we left Lindstrom we had to stop and sample the bakery items. On the left are some old tools that graced one of the walls inside. Impossible to take photos of the baked goods because too many people were in the store to get any good shots plus I ate the donuts before I got out my camera!

The baked goods must have been scrumptious if the bakery was packed with customers!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how old their sign is. It appears to be plugged up so I'm assuming it still lights. Yesterday I meant to ask what was the significance of the "Ringo Starr 1940" at the end of your post but as I look back I failed to do so. Now this morning I notice another name and date so I began to wonder what kind of message you were imparting to us. It didn't take long for the aha moment to hit my brain.
ReplyDeleteWhat you ate the photo?!
ReplyDeleteHuh?????
DeleteBakeries are always "Swede" Surrender to me. (I love the pun in your title, and imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?)
ReplyDeleteI bet that was a tasty stop!
ReplyDeleteToo many people in the store reminds me of a bakery in Ontario's cottage country, where one might expect at any given time to see fifteen to twenty cars parked outside.
ReplyDeleteI guess they were good then. I'm not fond of doughnuts, are Swedish style somehow different?
ReplyDeleteHmm...the baked goods must have been mighty tasty! My daughter-in-law who's of Finnish ancestry makes the most delicious cardamom cinnamon buns.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a sign of a business that has been around for awhile. Love donuts.
ReplyDeleteI'm a donut fan - wondering what makes a Scandinavian donut different to a North American donut?
ReplyDeleteGo back! Show me the donuts! 8-)
ReplyDeleteI am wondering what makes them distinctively Scandanavian.
ReplyDeleteDon't know what a Scandinavian Donut is, but they must be good.
ReplyDeleteYou don't know how many times I've said, gosh I should have taken a photo of that before I ate it.
ReplyDeleteBet there were some wonderful treats there.
ReplyDeleteA Scandanavian that is interesting, how does it taste?
ReplyDeleteI'm always ready for a bakery.
