How Swede It Is !!
The Minneapolis Tribune recently published "How Swede It Is" an article that described the small town of Lindstrom, MN, which according to some visitors from Sweden, is more Swedish than they! Naturally I had to visit, and found the unique water tower and one of the barn quilt designs. About 4o miles from St. Paul, it's a sweet little Swedish-influenced town with a wonderful bakery and a store that carries hundreds of clogs. Read the article in the link above for more information.

That is nice the keep the heritage alive, I just was in Sweden too.
ReplyDeleteFunny with the clogs!
ReplyDeleteSmall towns are quite cool so close to our large cities. Water towers, with the town names, signal you've sort of reached 'another world'. I must say, this is quite a unique look.
ReplyDeleteYah shure, I tank I like this place a lot! McPherson, Kansas is more Swedish than Sweden, too.
ReplyDeleteThe water tower is surely unique and eye-catching!

ReplyDeleteWe've been through Lindstrom many times, but have never stopped in. Always on the way to somewhere else. We'll have to make this a day trip summer destination! After all, I have Swedish roots. My paternal grandpa was born on the boat over from Sweden!
