Kayaks were available in the cabin/resort where we recently stayed. I watched the man give instructions to the female in the orange kayak. Water on Lake Superior is a tough place to learn, and she didn't last long. By the time I finished watching and taking a few photos she had fled and returned to terra firma.

Kayaks are catching on. It seems that every time I am near a body of water I see people out in them.
ReplyDeleteI can understand her, nothing for me either.
ReplyDeleteThat would probably be my fate also!
ReplyDeletei'd like to try it. :)
ReplyDeleteShe's brave for trying. I prefer to keep my feet on solid ground.
ReplyDeleteTom and I have kayaked in Alaska, Hawaii and Texas. Find it much easier in a two person kayak....that way when you get tired...someone else can paddle.
ReplyDeleteNever tried one. Never will. Is there a pub nearby?
ReplyDeleteI love to kayak It's so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI love kayaking...but I admit I have never done it on Lake Superior!
ReplyDeleteI like my boats to be BIG!
ReplyDeleteI've done it, though I prefer the canoe to a kayak. Lake Superior's definitely an unforgiving body of water.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like fun but I'll probably pass especially on Superior!
ReplyDeleteKayaking looks like fun, great shots! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Terra Ferma...love your choice of words. Makes it so much more humorous :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to try that but I guess I should learn to swim first.
ReplyDeleteLots of 'yakers around these parts. I never had the upper body strength to paddle as much and as hard as I needed to in California waters.
ReplyDeleteVery punny of you, lol. I'd love to learn to kayak, but can just imagine where I'd end up if the tremours started on the water... perhaps I should just stick to swimming, since that's what I'd be doing anyway.
ReplyDeleteI like kayaks, but admittedly, I usually use calmer water than the Great Lakes.
ReplyDeleteI have a lake kayak and recently took it out for the first time in years! Luckily it was a calm day...but the hard part is hoisting it on top of the car!
