More Neighbors!-Camera Critters

These hungry neighbors eat us out of house and feeder!

  1. Thats a big feeder, here in England we are pretty keen on feeding wild birds but I cannot recall seeing on as big as this here. The yellow finch is pretty colourful and would add a nice touch to any garden.

  3. That looks like the most popular restaurant in town for these beauties.

  8. I wonder where these birds eat in the winter. My brother and his wife in St Cloud trudge through several feet of snow on their property of several acres to put our food for the birds.

  11. Oh, I hear ya!!! They're an expensive hobby they are....bird watching that is. But boy, what rewards. With our hummingbird feeders, I mix up 5 cups of sugar/water a week. And not to mention the pounds of seed we go through.

Your finch is gorgeous!! As is the flower in the background...are they butterfly bushes?

My Critter blog this week is a photo of a laughing gull, AND I added a touching dog video -1.5 minutes long- of a dog that was blown away in a tornado only to CRAWL home 2 weeks later. It's a must see...the stamina and determination of animals.

    Have a great weekend.

  12. That same scene is being played out in my backyard right now! I also have the exact same feeder and I love it. It's the only one I have ever had that has completely dumbfounded the dozens of squirrels who inhabit my yard.

  13. I like the little Gold Finches that come to our yard. This one has on his brightest colors too. I love the little peeps that I hear from the trees when they visit.

Thanks for the nice words for the graduate! This saying that you have today would be a perfect for them.

  14. Almost looks like a parakeet! But it's a wild bird indeed. I hope it's quieter than the mockingbirds and crows we get around here. They're having some sort of disagreement these days.

  15. I have fed the birds all my life and sometimes it is difficult to keep the feeders full. The wild birds are a delight to watch and to see them come and go with the migration and changing of seasons. Enjoy your weekend, mon amie.

  18. So cute! I can't have a bird feeder, there are hundreds of pigeons around here...

  19. Whenever I try to put a bird feeder out, the squirrels get to it first, so I am now living in an au naturel non-feeding zone.

  20. Goldfinches sure can eat a LOT, can't they? We have a few hungry ones at our feeders too. But I truly DO love them. :)

  21. Nice shots. As much time and money as we put into feeding the birds, we should get to claim them as tax deductions.

  22. This is a superb photo! What cute critters. We tried this at our old house in Ocala but we could never figure out how to keep the squirrels from eating all the bird seed.
