Memorial

I recently attended a memorial for a former colleague, and this arrangement reflecting her and her family's interest was at the foot of the altar in St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A former high school English teacher and college counselor, she, her children, and grandchildren vacationed for many years at their privately-owned island in Canada. The canoe, paddle, and simple floral arrangement were perfect statements about her interests.

  1. Kate,

apologies for not many comments lately. I loved your bike yesterday and today's is beautiful. Snap, in a way, as I went to a funeral yesterday - and you to a memorial. I'd not heard of this sort of thing being done but what a lovely idea to gather items that represent the person's life. At mine, there would need to be a string of dogs!

I read back on the camera saga which is one large drag. Hope that gets sorted in the not too distant future.

  3. I'm sorry you lost a friend. But how thoughtful of someone to create this wonderful memorial. It really has a personal touch and it looks like it was made with lots of love!

  5. I've never attended a memorial where there was any decoration concerning the person in question. Very interesting.
