#12-Shidoni Sculpture Garden
Located in Tesuque, a village 8 miles north of Santa Fe, the Shidoni Sculpture Garden has long been a favorite of mine. It's part of a 3-part complex that includes the Shidoni Contemporary Gallery and the Bronze Gallery. It was established as a foundry in 1971 by sculpture Tommy Hicks. On Saturdays the public can watch as 2,000 degree molten bronze is poured into ceramic shell molds, one of the many steps in the casting process.

Did you and Olivier get together on your posts today? He has sculpture too.
ReplyDeleteI love the woman's head and the lion to the left of her. Its all good though.
You asked about the program I use for editing photos and you are right, its Photoshop, but I downloaded a plug-in that is easy to work with and I love. Its called NIK Color Efex Pro 3.0. There is a 15 day free trial and I only have 7 days left! I guess I'm going to have to buy it.
A great collage of sculptures!
ReplyDeletemagnifique cette mosaïque de sculptures, j'adore
ReplyDeletethis beautiful mosaic sculpture, I love
I like the lion. Sounds like Saturday is the day to go. I would love to watch them pouring the hot bronze, sounds neat.
ReplyDeleteYour montages are always nice. I'm not even going to ask how you do them. You must have a lot of patience though! :)
ReplyDeleteGosh, another sculpture garden! I just left Olivier's! This is lovely. and I love the collage you've created, Kate. How very interesting they all are. As you say, a lot of us on a sculpture kick today - and why not? And interestingly, all so different too.
ReplyDeleteI like them. The red one and the white curly one are my favourites :)
ReplyDeleteNice collage Kate. I haven't been there yet. Did you lunch at the Tesuque Market Place?
