House of Hoops
This is just a very small sample of the shoes available to wear when playing basketball. The prices range widely as does the selection for all kinds of activities: walking, running, jogging--boggles the mind. It helps when the salesperson knows the product, as did the man who helped our grandson. He steered us away from the more expensive Jordan shoes, which he thought were substandard compared with other lines. Our 13-year-old grandson got a terrific pair of size 13 basketball shoes, which, incidentally, are not featured on the photograph that I hastily snapped before we left. What kind of sneakers do you use?

Nice shot of all the shoes. I run and walk quite a lot, so Adidas is my brand. But so many to choose from!
ReplyDeleteOh my, just went through the same exercise with my husband, he was looking for tennis shoes... a frightening experience!
ReplyDeleteNathalie in Avignon
it's amazing what they do with those these days. I have a 12 year old and he has some of the strangest sneakers I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteI guess I am old. I like the plain white K-Swiss or old style Nike, low top leather with a blue swish.
ReplyDeleteBasketball is not a big thing around here, but I do need some new shoes that can stand a bit of sturdy walking. Maybe they can help me? There seem to be enough to choose from!
ReplyDeleteA Happy Blogging New Year to You!

Wishing you a very Happy New Year Kate. Lucky you to start it in Mexico.
ReplyDeleteShoes...I'm glad my boys are grown and buying those items on their own.
Me...I love my Rebock walking shoes. Not too expensive and give me just the right support.
Hi Kate, Happy New Year from Sydney.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for all your visits to Sydney DP this year. I value your visits and friendship across all these kilometres. I am off on holiday for a while, where the connection is bad, and there are better things to do, so probably no comments in the next little while :-)
I have a pair of New Balance shoes for the gym or tennis, but Iam afraid I am rather "European" in my footwear choices....can't stand wearing runners/trainers/sneakers/sports shoes other than for ....well running/training/sneaking / sport!
"Sneakers" as I call them are generaly priced much too high.
ReplyDeleteThat said, have a Happy New Year, Kate!!
Happy New Year Kate!!
ReplyDeleteDear Kate: Wish shoes or barefoot, wishing you a wonderful new year with camera in hand. Look forward to sharing photos and stories. Happy new year to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteI get cross training shoes since I go to the gym often and do lots of walking. I'm sure those price tags are a little scary. Anyways, Happy New Year's to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI have a new pair of Keens--not sneakers but great for all of the walking my ol' feet do each day.
ReplyDeleteAbout the rhododendrons, I wish I were the gardener for them. Alas, that job is maintained by the apartment's employees. However, I must surely be the chief admirer of their toil!
A lot of modern sneakers/tennis shoe/ running shoes look like alien creatures.
ReplyDeleteI always had big feet, and as a child looked like a letter "L". I finally grew into them though. I wear 14. At 45, I think my feet finally stopped growing.
