Estanisiao Contreras created “La Nuova Vita (The New Life)” in 1983. The sculpture stands in front of Amhoist Tower at the corner of 4th and St. Peter Streets in downtown St. Paul
A plaque near the sculpture reads:
La Nuova Vita symbolizes the strength and vitality of the many ethnic cultures that contributed to the growth of this City.
Good work capturing this 'new life'. I like the construction pieces.

ReplyDeletebeautiful! love those chiseled features!
ReplyDeleteEvery town should have public art. The more, the better!
ReplyDeleteI like the angular look of the sculpture almost as if it is just being rendered from the rock itself as opposed to showing a lot of detail. It embodies the strength of the material as well as the 'new life' that is emerging.
ReplyDeleteI like the style of the work.
ReplyDeleteNice....I like the quote on the plaque too.
ReplyDeleteStrength comes right out of the pores of this statue.
ReplyDeleteThis looks very much like the art created for WPA in the 1930s.
ReplyDeleteInteresting style, and I like the sentiment of the inscription.
