Michael Connelly and Kerri Miller on the stage at the Fitzgerald Theatre
Another hit interview with Talking Volumes! Connelly spent the evening discussing his craft and his development as a writer. The author of 26 novels he had plenty to say, and it was all interesting!
I like those author interviews, I often visit one too and afterwards I always am inspired to read one.
ReplyDeleteI bet he had! 26 novels - that guarantees experience.
ReplyDeletePS I'm working on it ...
My husband devours crime novels....he would have enjoyed this interview.
ReplyDeleteHe would have LOVED this one.
DeleteSounds like and event I would have enjoyed!
ReplyDeleteThis is a worthwhile series.
ReplyDeleteglad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI got to meet Michael Connelly and hear him talk at the LAPD Heritage museum in LA...the audience was primarily LAPD personnel...he told the audience that our audience intimidated him more than any other he'd spoken to...due to the fact that he bases his stories in LA...he takes some literary license in describing some aspects of the LAPD system, but for the most part he's right on!!! He apologized to the audience for always having conflict between the upper administration and his characters...he said that one of the primary plot scenarios is conflict...especially between upper management and the regular guy. He was fascinating and is one of the few mystery/crime authors that TheChief enjoys reading!!!
ReplyDeleteGood portrait shots, Kate, both of them.
ReplyDeleteI love his books and have read them all except the last one. Funny that he doesn't fit my mental image of him - that's always so intriguing.
ReplyDeleteYou find some of the most interesting conversations at the Fitzsgerald to listen in on! Nice portrait.
ReplyDeleteNice shots.
ReplyDeleteI've read several of his books and there are more on my to-read list.
