Contemporary Bamboo Art

"Lively Motion of Lines" by Sugiura Noriyoshi, b. 1964

"Butterfly" 1998
Uematsu  Chikuyu b.1947

Although the ancient objects of art in the Japanese exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts were treasures to see, I also loved the contemporary pieces.  If you missed the two previous posts about the Clark Collections, go here and here.

The January theme for City Daily Photo bloggers is "Photo of the Year."

  3. Beautiful pieces. Amazing what nimble fingers can create. Although the work looks fragile; I suspect it is quite strong.

  11. These creations are certainly visually appealing. I admire people who can create such things. I've heard it's a bit chilly up in them thar parts. So why aren't you in New Mexico, or Florida, or Mexico?
