Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

I wonder if any of this salvageable?  Sometimes old wood can be used in interesting and creative ways but this building looks pretty far gone.  Any ideas?

  1. A big (contrelled) fire seems the only option here!

  2. I'm with VP. Doesn't look like much of this would be salvageable. In Florida, we would avoid this at all costs, because it would most likely be full of termites.

I like the photo, though. Old, falling-down buildings are some of favorite things to photograph!

    Have a great weekend!

  3. I agree, this doesn't look like it can be saved however, some of the wood might find it's way into artistic endeavors.

  4. some of that wood would definitely be good for art projects, birdhouses, mixed media, any number of things.

  7. Looks like fodder for art; also looks like art as is--at least you've photographed it so.

  8. The slats make great picture frames...just cut around the bad stuff.

My grandfather used to make frames from old barn siding.

  11. Oh I would love to take pictures of a house like this from every angle. Or is it a barn?. Its rickety shape gives it that certain mood for great shots. Thanks.

  13. It could be great inspiration for artist to paint these dieing textures. And could be a real depression to walk around just watching it.

  14. Just love this. I remember driving through Kentucky and admiring those wonderful old barns, many sadly falling apart like this one. Very much part, it seems to me of the American rural landscape.

  16. Ahh there it is. You see these types of buildings fairly regularly in the country side, and I always wonder about the hazard they present. Seems they should be torn down, but I suppose there's some sentimental value to their owners.
