Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

un petit feu ferait du bien ce matin, car ici il fait frisqué
ReplyDeleteA warm post for the cold days to come.
ReplyDeleteI love the glow of the flame.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo. The poem is so very appropriate for our country today!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite pleasures is to sit in front of a bonfire. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pairing of poem to photo.
ReplyDeleteTo me it sounds a bit like choosing heaven or hell - I'm an atheist, and try to work positive for the world and people on earth. The only judge is me, and looking in the mirror day after day my hope is, an older face gives more and more wisdom :)
ReplyDeleteI cast my vote for the fire, it's raining here now. About the beautiful poem, I think fire would be quicker anyway...
ReplyDeleteMississippi has been in a severe drought, but we finally got some rain last night. Maybe they will lift the burn ban now.
ReplyDeleteNice poem to go with the picture.
Get out the marshmallows!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jean, very nice indeed.
