Pedestrian Foot Bridge
This foot bridge spans Montreal Boulevard close to 7th Avenue. When my DH was a young sprout, and when it was fun and safe to engage in some neighborhood shinanigans, his compatriots and he would drop water balloons on the cars passing below. How frightening and thrilling it was to have an angy motorist chase them, attempting to get just retribution for their "boys-will-be-boys" activity. Didn't get captured, but it was a sobering experience for them. Guess their activity ceased shortly thereafter not only because of being chased, but they realized their "fun" could be dangerous for the motorists.

ReplyDeleteDon't you think we have the same bridge, We even took them the same angle.
The only difference is yours is a footbridge, and mine is a vehicle bridge.
Very decorative motorway footbridge.
ReplyDeleteI love releaving the boredom of being a passenger by taking in the different styles. I usually love the ones especially for cattle, when they stop halfway to take a butchers.

The bridge's arch seems to frame the colour in the trees. Neat composition!
ReplyDeleteI like how the bridge seems to stretch out between the trees in the bottom photo, like a web strand.
ReplyDeleteThey don't build bridges like this one anymore. I see the leaves are starting to change in your area. We still have temperatures in the 100's.
ReplyDeleteKate, great perspective and framing. Our trees will not be turning any colors for quite awhile, but yours are lovely shades of autumn. Funny story about your DH, too!

This bridge looks great and I love the autumn colours of trees.
ReplyDeleteGreetings:)
These two pictures are great. In the first one it looks like it is out in the country but then, when you look at the second one, you see it is not. A fun perspective lesson. Also a fun boyhood story. I wonder what my two boys got up to in their youth that I don't know about. Maybe it's best that I don't know.
ReplyDeleteNice shot!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!

Boy that footbridge seems tall! I love the arch of it, and the trees in the background, especially the first photo.
ReplyDeleteLove this photo Kate!!! The colors and the composition of the bridge all work very well together!!!
ReplyDeletehee hee...
ReplyDeleteThis reminds «Louis» of when he was about 10, he laid down on the pavement right under the wheel of a parked car - making it look like he had been run over by the car. It was on a busy street. Passing drivers were furious at the prank... «Louis» did that twice - first time and last, both at the same time...
A very quaint little bridge!
