ABC Wednesday-"M"-Mural

  I've driven by this building many times, but have yet to figure out the explanation for this mural. Any ideas?

    I think its a ufo trying to visit us and we have a shell around us not wanting to know whats out there......that or they had a lot of blue paint.

    I'm not sure what it means. It does look like some sort of stream (of consciousness?) extending out from earth into space. But what about that gear looking thing floating in space? I'm not sure what to make of it...
    it is pretty, though.
