I had to trudge home through the snow last week when the buses stopped running and longed to pause briefly on a half-way bench but twas just like this.
In weather like this, I would skip the time to rest on the bench even if it were not covered with snow. It would be better to press ahead and get home and have something warm to drink and sit in front of the fire.
