ABC WEDNESDAY " V"-VIOLIN, VIRTUOSO

Can a young person be considered a virtuoso?  If s/he plays like this 12-year-old sixth grader, I think the answer is a resounding "yes!"

“A table, a chair, a bowl of fruit and a violin; what else does one need to be happy.” Albert Einstein

  2. Outstanding. We need to do more to introduce and develop musical education and talent among young people. (I have been on the Board of Directors of the Phoenix Symphony for 15 years). Music education sometimes gets cut during times of tight budgets, but it enriches lives and develops so many skills in young people -- and adults.

  3. Wonderful portrait. You can feel her concentration. Wish we could hear what she's playing.

  8. I agree with you and with Einstein, but I would trade the chair and the table for something more comfortable!

  9. Absolutely! I played the violin when I was 12 - and I was NOT a virtuoso...

  11. I saw a 14-year-old (male) pianist this fall. He WAS a virtuoso. So I think it's possible for the 12-year-old girl as well.

  12. Good for her! I hear the violin is very difficult to learn. I love the sound of them though.
