Iraq

More of these headstones are now appearing in the military cemetery at Fort Snelling. 24 years old! I'd like to live in a world without war!

Me too, Kate. It's an anachronism if you ask me.

    Hi Kate,

I watched a show on TV last night about a company making these military cemetery headstones. I was struck by the birthdates on many of these... they are the same ages as my own children. It just breaks my heart.

  5. Kate, I so agree. Thankyou for your comment on Monte Carlo DP. We are both covering loss in war today and goodness, these young men - always the young men - so sad, so tragic, such a bloody waste of life.

  8. A as well. Sadly, in the history of mankind, it is reported that there has only been 15 days without war. A sobering reality, when will society learn?

  9. Kate, I so agree with you. And for all this loss, it doesn't seem like we're accomplishing a whole, does it?

  10. You are so right. I think like you. We should say it and repeat it to everybody every day of our lives.

  11. I too, Kate, would like to live in a world without war, without hate, without murder and violence.

I thought of you when I posted Lambeau Field today. I'm glad you came by and saw Green Bay and directed me to your earlier postings.

  12. You know what it is most hideous and abhorrent, that we have been engaged into wars since the dawn of humanity and what is worse, there is no signal, clue, evidence that peace will finally be inherent to our species. In other words it sucks, something is wrong in our brains, well in most brains, we need violence, and if we don't participate, we watch it on TV and we let our children watch, and we see anger, crime...I just can't figure out what the purpose of any war is, to attack or to "defend", what for, if THIS is what we get.
